Victor Bingham, A very loyal and faithful member of the course staff retired last friday. Victor gave 14 years of service to Adare Manor Golf Club. Victor was a person whose dedication to duty was exemplary, not only on a daily basis but particularly visible on sunday morning. Frost and rain did not prevent Victor from early morning duty and if Victor said the course was closed then the course was closed. At a reception in the Clubhouse on friday, Lady Captain, Jean Ryan, Honorary Secretary TP Healy and Captain John O'Gorman spoke glowingly of Victors efforts. The Captain made a presentation to Victor on behalf of all the Club. The good news is that Victor will return to the Club on a part-time basis after a short break. Thanks Victor.

Adare Manor G.C. Results
Congrats once again must go to our juniours team in the Fred Daly Cup for defeating Shannon G.C. in the second round last weekend. This was made all the more meritable because the lads had to go into the lions den and play Shannon in Shannon . Both sides had to endure biting Easterly winds and very cold conditions but on the day Adare mastered the conditions better and won out on a score of five and a half to one and a half. They now go on to meet Limerick in the next round on a date and venue to be arranged. The team who did the honours on the day was, David Carroll, John Fitzgibbon, Jack McGrath, Aaron Moore, Cormac Behan, Robert Costello, Greg Lohan, & John Roche.
The fourball qualifiers took place at the weekend with the top sixteen to qualify, places were at a premium. The top qualifiers on the day were Tom Hickey and Stephen Hickey with 44 pts. The boys now represent the club in the Holm Patrick cup in the near future. Check notice board for draw. Shot of the day must go to Tim O, Brien for while playing the 17 th he knocked down his drive to about 150 yds. from the tee, he subsequently took out his five wood and eagled the hole with his next shot to score five points at the hole.
