OUT OF BOUNDS is defined by white stakes. (a) Outside the boundaries of the course. (b) The clubhouse, clubhouse enclosure, car park and surrounding paths. (c) Within the boundary walls of the Abbey, Desmond Castle and Graveyard. (d) When playing the 3rd hole, the area to the left of the wall and area defined by the continuing road. (e) Marked area around machinery sheds.
Water Hazards are defined by Yellow Stakes and Lateral Water Hazards are defined by Red Stakes.
Avenues: A ball lying within one club length of an avenue may be played as it lies , or dropped back without penalty, keeping the avenue between the player and the pin.
